What Is Going to Put Golf Back on Track?

December 21, 2018 By mrbg

Seems like I have talked about this before.  Actually, I did back in 2010 touch on what Golf needs to do to stay relevant  Guess Golf was not listening then, nor NOW!

It is rather simple to get golf back to where people will book tee times weeks in advance because they couldn’t wait to get back out on the golf course.  Right..out on the Golf course!!!  Not the make-believe simulators or the OTT driving range in a cage.

Does Golf need to change to get more business people to play?

Absolutely YES!

Does the way people conduct business need to change to ensure the business has an adequate client base to sustain another recession?

Emphatically, YES!

However, Golf does not need to change the way it is played and business does not need to change the way it is conducted.  What has to change is Golf needs to put more emphasizes on attracting business people to play outside on a real golf course.

And, business people need to settle down and find more time to get out on the golf course to develop more business.

Business Golf has been around for as long as golf has been around and if business people get back to using Golf as a Business tool golf courses will again become a valued business resource.

The result will be golf courses will feel more comfortable making playing golf at their facilities less expensive and make improvements to their facilities to accommodate business golf.

The goal for Golf should be to get back to where 90% of business decision maker executives prefer to play REAL golf.  And for Golf to solve the three major problems its has; Slow play, Hard to Learn to Play and Overly Expensive.

It can be done.

I am excited to see more people I meet each day who play golf and prefer to play Real Golf, not the Mat Pounding golf in a cage.

Support your local country club, golf club or golf course.  Keep the real game alive.  Stop the madness of your work day and take time to take care of your health, cut down on the stress and build better relationships with your clients.

And just as importantly,… Let me know how I can help.
