Golfers Don’t Be Shy

August 22, 2009 By mrbg

For beginner golfer there is one thing they have in common with Tiger Woods or Lorena Ochoa…they were both beginner golfer at one time like you.

Even though Tiger was technically only a beginner for a few months while he was 3 yrs old, he still struggled with the same thing you are struggling with and that is just about everything about golf.

Golf is hard to learn and it should not be taken for granted thinking  some people have a natural ability to playing golf.  Believe me, EVERYONE has to learn to play golf.  There are no born golfers.

So why do people play golf?

The first reason everyone has to playing golf is it is FUN.  Too many people forget about the FUN and get frustrated over being perfect the first time they pick up a golf club.  They forget that you have to learn to play golf.

What is fun to some is hitting the ball a trillion miles and to others it is putting the ball a trillion miles and it falling into the cup.  The fun of golf continues all the way to the Professional level.

A Game of Averages

In reality golf has its ups and its down and every golfer needs to keep this in mind as they learn to play.  Not every golf shot is going to be perfect and not all of them are going to be bad.  A golfer has to remember golf is a game of averages.  You take all the fun stuff and not fun stuff about golf, add it to all the fun and exciting things about golf, at the end of the round you should have an average of FUN for that round.

Some rounds are going to average not fun and others are going to average as more fun than not. If a beginner keeps this in mind when they start their journey to learning to play golf they will experience an average of more fun than not fun rounds of golf.

The  fun is taken out of starting to learn golf when people start off with hang ups on only wanting to play golf perfectly.  Even the Best Golfer in the world can’t play golf perfectly so why should someone have that expectation.

Make Golf FUN

Make golf fun by playing or practicing the part that is the most fun for you.  If you like to let the big dog hunt by hitting a golf ball a mile, then make sure you take the time during your practice , warm up or during a round to hit that shot.

If you like to make long putts then make sure to make that happen.  I have a friend who can’t leave the course without hitting five shots out of a sand bunker…why..well hitting out of the sand is fun to him.

Golf is a game of fun..keep it that way and you will eventually play more fun golf.

WHERE TO START

BGCC100x45.pngSo you want to try golf because you heard some guy called Mr Business Golf say it was fun.  Where do you start?

What works for some is to find someone else of common interest to learn to play golf together.  Some people like to have a purpose greater than having fun with golf..fun to some people is doing business.  Where do you find people who like golf and doing business?

The Business Golf Country Club is a great place to find REAL people who are interested in the same thing..Golf and Business.  The BGCC could be the place where you find a group of people to learn more about the game and business..giving each person a purpose in learning how to have fun while doing business.  Come learn more about business and golf by joining the Business Golf Country Club.

Let me know how I can help.
